Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress who is best well-known for her role as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of school when her parents divorced to go to Los Angeles to live with her mother. While struggling financially she landed her first part as the title character in the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in the year 2001. The actress was able to secure an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress on Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. Grace left the show in order to focus on her professional film work. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. In 2008, she played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace performed the role of Shannon again in Lost's finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received greater recognition for her performance as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008).
